Privacy Policy

fiznote ("fiznote," "we," "us") is operated by Nafizul Hoque Khan as an individual, not a registered company. This policy explains what information fiznote collects when you use fiznote.co, why, and who it's shared with. If you have any questions about it, email khannafizulhoque@gmail.com directly — a real person reads and replies to that inbox.

1. Information we collect

When you use fiznote, we collect:

• Account information — your name, email address, and profile photo, provided by Google when you sign in. fiznote doesn't support email/password accounts, so we never see or store a password.
• Recordings you upload — the audio or video file itself, temporarily while it's being processed, plus the transcript, summary, action items, and tags fiznote's AI generates from it.
• Ask fiznote conversations — questions you ask about a specific recording, and the answers given, so you can come back and see them later.
• Messages to Nafiz — anything you send through the "Message Nafiz" feature.
• Usage information — how many credits you've used, how many recordings you've uploaded, and similar account-level usage data.
• Basic analytics — anonymous, aggregate page-visit data via Vercel Web Analytics. This doesn't identify you individually or use tracking cookies.

2. If a recording includes other people

Meeting recordings usually include voices other than your own. fiznote processes whatever audio is in the file you upload, regardless of who is speaking. You, not fiznote, are responsible for having the right to record and upload a conversation, including getting consent from other participants where the law where you're located requires it. 3. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Transcribe and summarize your recordings
• Power the Ask fiznote chat and suggested questions
• Run your account: credits, recording history, settings
• Respond to messages you send through Message Nafiz
• Keep the service working and catch abuse of the free tier

We don't sell your data, and we don't use your recordings to train any AI model.

4. Who we share it with

fiznote runs on a small number of external services, each of which processes some of your data on our behalf:

• Google — for signing in with your Google account.
• OpenAI — your recording's audio and transcript is sent to OpenAI's API to generate the transcript, summary, and Ask fiznote answers. This is how fiznote is able to work at all — there is currently no way to use fiznote without your recording being processed by OpenAI.
• Supabase — hosts our database and file storage (in Singapore) and handles authentication sessions.
• Vercel — hosts the fiznote website and provides the anonymous analytics mentioned above.

We don't share your data with anyone else, and we don't sell it.

If you choose to send an optional "buy me a pizza" tip via bKash, that's a direct, personal bKash transfer between you and Nafiz's own bKash number — it happens entirely inside the bKash app. fiznote's own systems have no connection to bKash at all: we can't see who sent a payment, only that an amount arrived, the same way it would for any ordinary bKash transfer.

5. How long we keep your information

We keep your recordings, transcripts, and account data for as long as your account exists — there's currently no automatic deletion after a fixed time. You can delete an individual recording at any time from your Dashboard, which removes it and its transcript permanently. To delete your entire account and everything in it, email khannafizulhoque@gmail.com and we'll take care of it.

6. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data — access to the admin tools that can view user data is restricted to Nafiz's own account, and recordings are stored with per-user access controls. That said, no online service can guarantee perfect security, and we can't promise your information will never be exposed.

7. Children

fiznote is not intended for anyone under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

8. Your rights

You can, at any time:

• See and download your transcript for any completed recording
• Delete any individual recording from your Dashboard
• Ask us to delete your entire account and data by emailing khannafizulhoque@gmail.com

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use fiznote after a change means you accept the updated policy.
